Antenatal Clinic

  • Usually run by the Midwives from Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals. Our Doctors are always prepared and qualified to perform full antenatal care within normal surgery hours. For Post-natal checks (6-10 weeks after giving birth) please book a double appointment for you and your baby’s check up.

Childhood Immunisations

  • These are done every Wednesday morning between 10.00am and 11.00am. Your child will normally be called for appointments for routine vaccinations by the Local Primary Care Trust Database system. If you think your child has missed any injection, do let us know. It is important that all children are fully immunised.

Diabetes and other Chronic Conditions

  • We offer annual checks for people with Diabetes, Heart diseases, Thyroid, and Asthma. Please mention your condition to reception when you book. You may be asked to see the nurse before seeing the doctor.

Family Planning

  • You could see either the Doctor or the Nurse during normal surgery hours. We offer a comprehensive service including the contraceptive implant 'Implanon'. Ask for more information.

  • Emergency Contraception
The 'morning after' pill is effective for up to 3 days after you have been at risk.
The IUD 'coil' is effective up to 5 days.
Seek help urgently from us, the nearest family planning clinic, or any local GP practice.  If you are away, do not delay.  However, 'Levonelle' tablets are available over the counter at any chemist; ask the chemist about instructions of use.

Flu Vaccines Clinic

  • The Influenza vaccine is offered in the autumn for specific groups i.e. people with chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes, the elderly (over 65) and people with reduced immunity. Ask the practice secretary if in doubt.

Minor and Dermatological Surgery

  • Minor operations can be done at this surgery. Please make an appointment in the normal way for an assessment of the problem. Dr Delaimy performs most of the operations under local anaesthesia. He may refer you to hospital if the problem is on the head or neck, if you request it, or if he anticipates complications. Remember most operations may leave scar tissues behind.

Smear Tests (PAP Smears) and Mammograms

  • Cervical Cytology Smear tests are available every three years to all women routinely. We may advise this test to be done earlier depending on results. Appointments for Mammograms are organised for you routinely through central database at the Primary Care Trust. The national mammography scheme is currently available for every woman above 50, on 3 yearly interval up to the age of 65.

Travellers Vaccine Clinic

  • The Nurse offers a full range of immunisations for routine purposes and for those travelling abroad. Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse six weeks before travel. You might need a course of vaccinations. Please remember that you might need to finish your course after you come back for longer protection. Many of those vaccines are not covered by the NHS.

Well Baby Clinic

  • There is a Health Visitors' 'Drop-in' clinic on the 2nd Monday of each month between 1.30pm – 3.30pm. No appointment is necessary. Child developmental appointments with the doctor should be booked within the normal surgery hours.
